Lawrence Rowntree Exhibition

Lawrence Rowntree Exhibition

In 2017 we created an exhibition for display in the Community Room at York Castle Museum. It was part of the wider World War I exhibition on display at the museum from 2014.

The film below summarises the life and death of Lawrence Rowntree, son of John Wilhelm Rowntree and Constance Naish, and Joseph Rowntree’s grandson.

We commissioned a short play by Chris Cade to be performed in conjunction with the exhibition.

For the text of Lawrence’s journal, see Lawrence Rowntree – ‘A Nightmare’

Text of an article published in The Times newspaper.

The exhibition was on at York Castle Museum for two years. See here for the Press release.
